The Law of God; Leviticus 26-27
Season 2, Episode 8

As we finish reading the book of Leviticus, we can really get a feel for how God was directing Israel. Before God gave them His Law, they did not have a concrete guide on how to approach God, or how to treat each other in light of their relationship with God. We also have to remember that the laws were given for cultural, ceremonial, and religious reasons; there are different categories within the law. From our reading today, Leviticus 26 is very direct about how to apply the commands of God, with its 46 verses telling us how the children of Israel were to conduct themselves. Leviticus 27 ends with, “These are the commandments which the LORD commanded Moses for the children of Israel on Mount Sinai” (LEVITICUS 27:34). God was shaping His people into a proper nation; He was urging on His plan of salvation.
