The Spies; Numbers 10-13
Season 2, Episode 11

In our reading today, God spoke to Moses, directing him to send out a man from each tribe of Israel to spy out the land of Canaan. By doing so, the men would witness the power needed to overcome the people of Canaan. The men did witness this, but their courage melted completely. It is staggering to realize that the men were supposed to be a witness of how much God would need to fight for them, but instead when they realized there was no way Israel could win the land on their own, they melted in fear. Misunderstanding the LORD is a fundamental mistake we can all make when we look at our future. If the issue is too big to overcome on our own, praise the LORD, we are not alone! Through Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of God, we can be overcomers! Victors through God’s work! We must all come to the place where we are willing to follow God into the future because we have made Christ our Lord.

Spiritual People; Numbers 21-24
When I read through the Old Testament, I am always astounded by how spiritual ancient people were. That is not the world that I grew up in. I remember growing up in the 60’s and 70’s and seeing many of my schoolteachers making fun of anyone who they found out were religious. In one school year I ...
