Naaman was a mighty military leader of the Syrian army. He was politically powerful and physically strong, no one could touch him. And then, he contracted a deadly disease. 2 Kings 5 tells us how God healed him through the prophet Elisha.
The next few chapters of the Bible are packed full of interesting things. In chapter 6, God, through Elisha, causes an axe head that was lost in the river to float to the surface! In chapter 7, Elisha promises food to a desperate and starving city, and the Syrians flee leaving all their food behind for the people. Chapter 8 sees a woman getting her land back due to Elisha’s reputation, Ben-Hadad an enemy of Israel is killed in a takeover, and both Israel and Judah get new kings. This is a busy and amazing portion of the Bible.
