The 19th king of Judah is my favourite! His name was Josiah, and he was eight years old when he became king. He knew that there was something unique and different about this kingdom. He demanded that they rebuild the Temple of God, and work to encourage the people to seek the LORD. In fact, we learn that the king himself was also devoted to knowing God.
2 Kings 22 tells the story of what happened: Hilkiah the high priest said that he found a book while repairing the Temple. It was the Book of the Law or God’s Word. We don’t really know if Hilkiah found the book, or if he was hiding the book and decided to reveal it when he learned how the king feared God. Nonetheless, the book was brought to King Josiah. It was through God’s Word that major religious reforms began, and as a result, Judah’s culture would be reshaped.
We are a family-run international ministry with television, print and online programs designed to guide you through the Bible in one year.
From social issues and apologetics to theology, history and science, our mission is to educate, edify and encourage the believer to actively engage with God’s Word in all ways.
