Judgement Comes; Zephaniah 1-3
Season 9, Episode 3

The prophet Zephaniah was alive during the reign of King Josiah of Jerusalem. His name comes from a Hebrew word that means “Yahweh has hidden.” Some people have taken this to mean that because Zephaniah would have been born during the reign of the evil king Manasseh,
God hid him from Manasseh’s great evil so that he could be raised up a prophet for King Josiah’s time. It’s an interesting connection, but what we do know from Zephaniah’s three chapters is that God’s judgment was on the land and the people for their great sin. Even in the time of Josiah’s revival and religious reforms the people needed to hear about God’s judgment.
The changes that Josiah was making, proclaiming, and encouraging in his people needed to take root in their hearts not just in their habits. All of us need God to change our hearts as we listen and respond to Him.

The Branch; Zechariah 1-4
The fourteen chapters of Zechariah contain some of the most Messianic prophecies in the Old Testament. This is fitting because the name Zechariah means, “The Lord remembers.” He does indeed, and His remembering would come in the form of sending His Son to enact God’s
new covenant! In his propheci... -
The Work of God; Zechariah 9-11
The work of God is very different than the work of man. When God closes something, it remains closed. When God opens something, it remains open. I believe the time in which we live has been opened to Israel the nation. It was defined in 1920, in San Remo, Italy, by a group of leaders from the Lea...
