When I think about my youth, I can really sympathize with David’s moving of the Ark of the Covenant. I remember being so passionate and full of energy that I put everything I had into following God. The problem was that I followed God my way, how I thought it should be done. God has mercy with us, but if we don’t care to learn, to find out how it is that we are supposed to follow God, we can do damage. As I got older and continued to read the Bible and gain life and ministry experience, I began to see why God wants us to live certain ways and not others. Those course corrections changed a lot about my life for the better. In our reading today, we see God speaking to David about the details of His holiness. It is important to follow God’s instructions and to treat Him with the respect that He outlines. David was excited to bring the Ark of God, the symbol of God’s presence, into Jerusalem, but he did not think about God’s commands
surrounding this. As a result, a man was killed by God.W
