Complaining! Why is this the one thing that humans seem to do best? We are people who are born and raised in sin, so it makes sense that we do evil things best. The only way to escape the cycle of sin is to come to Jesus and give Him our lives. What we say, matters. When we talk about people behind their backs in a mean or malicious way, that is a sin. Gossip is one of the easiest ways that we can sin against God. When we think about it, gossip doesn’t even make sense: We don’t truly know what the other person is facing or how they have been affected in their past. When we complicate matters for them by spreading gossip, we sin against them and God. Sometimes, we’re guilty of idle words. Complaining can become a trap. We should not indulge ourselves by constantly complaining about anything, even our politicians! God is always listening, and our lives are affected by patterns of sin. This complaining is a way Israel proved its humanity in the Bible.
