Obeying God; Deuteronomy 28-31
Season 2, Episode 17

Spiritual leadership is more important than political leadership. In a democracy, political leadership is elected by the people. If the people turn from good to evil, then the leadership is elected by evil people, which is reflected in the government policies and practices. But spiritual leadership is anointed by God, who is Holy and above all things. He disciplines and helps His chosen leaders, who hear Him, to make the best decisions for the people. These are not easy decisions, but they are good and solid ones.
The reading today in Deuteronomy 28 is about God speaking to His people Israel on the importance of obeying His commands. It may seem harsh, but it is based on directing sinful people in a sin filled world. How should we live and react to the world around us? The blessings of God are for all of us, if we hold fast to the commands of God.
