Jesus Christ fulfilled all the requirements on earth and in heaven to free humankind from sin and destruction. This work is shown throughout the Bible, and is particularly clear to us in Revelation 5. Reading Revelation chapters 4-5, we quickly learn that God is preparing John to see what Jesus Christ actually did for us from heaven’s point of view. “After these things I looked, and behold, a door standing open in heaven. And the first
voice which I heard was like a trumpet speaking with me, saying, ‘Come up here, and I will show you things which must take place after this'” (REVELATION 4:1). From now on the statement, “And I saw…” will be repeated over and over again by John, illustrating that he was a witness to the things God had put in place at the end of time.
