Israel; Jeremiah 29-31

God is not finished with Israel yet! I think that is safe to say in light of our reading today, and in light of recent events. In the past, this concept was harder to grasp because it seemed like the nation of Israel was gone forever. What was the chance of her ever coming back after nearly 2000 years? But in 1948, the nation of Israel came to life again. Her modern history has been full of resistance, wars, and battles: Think of 1967, the Yom Kippur War, the surprise attack on Israel in 1973, and of course the most recent war that began with the terrorist attack against Israel in October 2023. God is not surprised by any of this, even though we often
are! It can be hard to understand the details of Biblical prophecy until we see it play out, but God has foretold through His prophets that there is a longer plan for Israel than perhaps we thought. This is something that I find impossible to ignore as we read through God’s promises in Jeremiah 30.

Judgment; Jeremiah 14-16
