Season 11, Episode 2

Paul had returned to Jerusalem. He was in the Temple when the Jews from Asia stirred up the crowd of people against him and dragged him out. They accused him of all kinds of blasphemy and violations of religious laws. Paul was making his case, as he had done many times before,
in front of the Sadducees and the Pharisees. The Sadducees were a collection of religious elites connected to the Temple itself, while the Pharisees were those who had set themselves apart for the study of the laws of Moses. The Pharisees emerged around the time of Ezekiel in the exile to Babylon. Since there was no Jerusalem Temple at the time of the Babylonian exile, they focused heavily on how to apply God’s law to their current culture. The Sadducees were a group who formed in the time between the Testaments when the Maccabees ruled Judah and there was
once again a Jerusalem Temple. Their name means righteous ones. These two groups had different conclusions in their understanding and study of the Old Testament Scriptures.

God Knows Our Future; Romans 1-2
God knows our future. This is such a strange concept for us to wrap our minds around. There is comfort in it though: God is faithful to prepare us for what is to come. It is wise for us to set our minds and hearts on seeking God in all things, so that He can direct and guide us. Rather than doing...
