To follow Christ will mean that sometimes our plans are changed or redirected by God; sometimes He changes our day and the things that happen to us. I have often gone about my day not paying too much attention, even when things don’t go the way they normally would or how I’ve planned them out. Later, I’ve come to realize that the LORD had gone before me, His hand was moving to change the flow of people and things according to His will. Isn’t it
interesting that even though we may have the best-laid plans or we’re following our usual routine, God can intervene at any point. Let me give you an example from our assigned Bible reading for today. Paul and those guarding him were on their way to Rome when the ship they were travelling in was overtaken by the rough sea. Paul, his fellow prisoners and crew ended
up shipwrecked on an Island called Malta. While Paul was gathering sticks for a fire, a snake emerged from the heat and bit him on the hand. Paul simply shook the snake off and was never affected by its bite. The LORD changed things to give Paul all he needed to get to Rome.
