"“Now faith is the substance of things hoped for, the evidence of things not seen”
(HEBREWS 1 1 : 1 ). The question is: What does that mean? The substance of things hoped for? The evidence of things not seen? How do you have evidence of things that you cannot see, and substance of what you hope for? The mystery of faith viewed in the human eyes of man is fascinating. We live in a physical world and have been trained by our culture to believe and count on physical things. Even still, most of us realize that there is so much more to the physical world that we cannot see, touch, or hear. The writer of Hebrews continues: “By faith we understand that the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that the things which are seen were not made of things which are visible"" (HEBREWS 1 1 : 3 ) .
The reality that Scripture portrays is that everything we can see around us comes from that which is not physical.
