Season 8, Episode 6

"I’m sure you have heard stories about prisoners of war who took their own lives so that they were not at the mercy of their enemy’s wicked desires. Human dignity is often sacrificed at the altar of pride and power. Lamentations 4 highlights the truth about how Jerusalem and the ancient kingdom of Judah lived after their spiritual failure to turn from their wicked ways. The worst thing we can do is live our lives in constant and
conscious rebellion against God. Lamentations is a deep cry from the soul of Jeremiah about the cost of sin, and serves as a warning for those who desire power. Mercy is not natural to man, but sin is. There is a condition worse than death and that is living our lives for eternity in sin.
