Never in history has there been a nation of people who were named by God, called by God, and whom God allowed to be destroyed, only to be returned by Him as a nation in the same place they were assigned thousands of years ago. God is trying to tell us something. Of course, I’m speaking about God’s prophetic call to Israel. This is the one nation we are told to pray for regularly, in the Bible. The land of Canaan was given to Abraham about five hundred years before Moses was told about it. The borders of Israel were marked out by God’s command. Moses was told to take note, because it was time for those whom God had named, the Israelites, to move into the land. In Numbers 34, the land is drawn out by God’s voice. This is the way God had
established Israel physically as well as spiritually. It would be in this land that Jesus Christ would be born, live a sinless life to fulfill the Law, and be crucified and rise again on the third day.
