The Promised Land was divided up between the Israelite tribes in the 14th century BC, about 3,400 years ago. History tells us that this is true, and the Bible tells us that it was the result of their covenant with God. God willed it. This is interesting considering the political turmoil over Israel that has happened historically and continues today. For me, it is very simple. God gave this small piece of property to the Herew nation. It is a relatively small parcel of land on earth surrounded by larger nations that have been given to the rest of the world. God’s covenant with Israel was not about the people’s will, it was about His. When God makes a promise, He keeps
it. With all of the intense emotions surrounding Israel, I can’t help but think that this is a spiritual issue. Understanding history and believing that Israel should exist doesn’t mean you have to agree with everything Israel does; Christians need to firmly be on God’s side, not peoples’ side. God has a plan, and it’s His plan that I’m interested in not various political confrontations.
