"n 2 Chronicles 7, the Temple in Jerusalem was dedicated. It was called the house of God by the Israelites. The events surrounding its establishment are stunning; we can imagine its beauty as the Bible describes its footprint, decoration, and articles. The worship of God in the time of Solomon’s early kingship must have been beautiful. Today, on this side of the cross, we do not
have a building for a Temple. Instead, the people of God are being built into a living Temple. God Himself reconstructs our hearts and lives to reflect His reality. God still shows Himself, but now the Temple exists all around the world: Christians from all nations have become meeting places between God and man. In our reading today, we will focus on the first Temple and
discover how God showed up in a clear way.
