Numbers 15 records the details of the offerings that were to be given once the people of Israel were living in the Promised Land. It is interesting because the offering centered its attention on God’s work in bringing the people into the land. Though the Israelites did the physical fighting, it was God who gave them the victory; they knew that there was no earthly way that they should have been able to win the land. It was truly God who gave them the Promised Land. I think this says a lot about how we should give offerings. When we give it is not about us, it is about God. He has saved us, He has done the work, we are living for Him! We give to God because we love Him, and of course He loved us first. In fact, it is through God that we can truly
love others as well.
