When I read through the Old Testament, I am always astounded by how spiritual ancient people were. That is not the world that I grew up in. I remember growing up in the 60’s and 70’s and seeing many of my schoolteachers making fun of anyone who they found out were religious. In one school year I lost several Bibles because teachers confiscated them from me. The times have shifted and changed. The generations that have grown up after me are much more open to God. And I’m continuing to pray that we will continue to see God give us revival! In the time of ancient Israel, back when the spiritual world was assumed to be involved in
everyday life, we see this new nation interact with the Moabites. The king of the Moabites was a man named Balak. He wanted to deal with Israel spiritually and physically, so he summoned a spiritual man, a type of ancient psychic named Balaam to come and curse them.

God is trying to tell us something. Of course, I’m speaking about God’...

Shifting Land; Numbers 35-36
One of the great challenges for a nation made up of twelve tribes was navigating shifting lands. In other words, when daughters would marry men from other tribes, the land would become part of the tribe she married into if the daughters were given the ownership of the land. This was the case with...
