God’s Kingdom is made up of people from all different cultures and walks of life. But as humans, we find it natural and comfortable to be around people from our own culture, with the same assumptions and traditions. And, often, when we are introduced into a new setting with cultures that we aren’t used to, it can be uncomfortable. While this is a natural human experience, God calls us not to stay in our natural states. God has called us to grow, to be like Him, not like us! God’s Kingdom is populated with people from many cultures, and we are told that we are all equally God’s children. Barnabas and Paul were leaders in the Church who recognized early on that God was extending His Kingdom to men and women all over
the world. This was a difficult transition for Christianity whose roots were deeply entrenched in Judaism and the Jewish culture. The Messiah’s mission required an expansion. Christianity is not limited to any one or two cultures, it is available to anyone, anywhere, with any past.
