In the Bible, God has made statements about what He has done and what He will do in our world full of sin. The book of Ezekiel is one place where we can see the truths of God's work. Ezekiel was born a Jewish priest and called as a prophet of God, but he was in exile. He did not have the Temple to work in because God had destroyed it in judgment on His people. Now,
Ezekiel lived along the River Chebar that was in the shadow of the ancient city of Babylon. His name means God strengthens, and he would certainly need that strength as he would illustrate what God had spoken to the nation through parables, signs, and symbols. I think that one of the fascinating and engaging signs for us today is the valley of the dry bones we will read about in Ezekiel 37. It is an amazing symbol, and this was what Israel's future was, and at the present time, is still being fulfilled.
