"During the trial of Jesus Christ, He was brought from the home of the high priest to the Praetorium to stand before the governing political ruler in Jerusalem. John witnessed and recorded this fascinating and ironic scene for us in which Pontius Pilate stands face to face with the God of Truth. Pilate confronts Jesus with questions and cannot find any fault or illegal thing that He has done to deserve official punishment. Jesus answers
Pilate saying that His Kingdom is not of this world but of spiritual principles. In an attempt to cast off this case and get rid of the problem of social unrest, Pilate attempts to have Jesus released using a popular custom. But the people begin to chant for the conviction and crucifixion of Jesus and, in the end, the high priest and religious leaders convince Pilate to execute Jesus. This is an amazing start to Jesus' last moments, and
ultimately to His victorious resurrection.
