"Why doesn't God show Himself on the nightly news?"" As a pastor, that was a common question I heard from many rebellious and angry people. At first, I was truly perplexed by the question and tried to come up with an answer. Then the LORD spoke to me in my spirit and I learned that even if He spoke full-blast to everyone, everywhere, there would still be many who would not listen and reject Him. There are some people who just hate the light (JoHN 3:19-20). Besides that, the LORD already did publicly showcase the greatest event the world will ever see: the death, resurrection, and ascension of Jesus Christ! God not only speaks through words, but He speaks through events, too! The event of Job's suffering was a public display of God's actual theology, to counter all the false theology held in the culture and by his friends.
