"Many avid readers of the Bible, as well as Bible scholars, have noted that the book of Acts is a sequel to the Gospel of Luke. It is what happened next. Like Luke, Acts was written by Luke to Theophilus. This time however, the book focuses on the fulfillment of Jesus' words that the gospel will be preached to Jerusalem, Samaria, and the world. Luke specifically tracks Peter, and then Paul. We get to see, roughly, the first 3 decades of the Church as it grew after the resurrection and ascension of Christ. Acts chapters 1 - 7 highlight the time just after the resurrection, while Acts 8 - 12 feature mainly the work of Peter, and Acts 13 - 28 then focuses on Paul the former persecutor of the Church. What an amazing testament to the activity of the Holy Spirit of God. God's presence in the lives of believers changes so much, both then and now. once we have confessed our sins and asked for God's forgiveness, once we have taken
on the name of Christ and His righteousness, the world around us should also change.
