When we do not listen to the LORD God, things do not go well. It may seem like they do because we are doing what we want, but as the sequence plays out, we will see that things are not well with the world around us. Sin is an ugly reality that plagues us, no matter what we do or how we do it. In fact, sin has trained us not to listen to God. When we realize that listening to God means we do not listen to ourselves first, then we start to learn the art and science of following God’s will. Science is a word that means “a branch of knowledge or study dealing with a body of facts or truths systematically arranged and showing the operation of general laws.” There is such a thing as general truth. The universe around us is filled with it. When God speaks there is nothing that can stop Him. That is the truth!
