Understanding; Nehemiah 8-10

The book of Nehemiah records Ezra reading the Law of God to the people as they gathered to worship in Jerusalem. Ezra was an expert in the Scriptures and had become a teacher of them. It is interesting to note that while Ezra was reading the Law, other Levites were among the people explaining the meaning to them. The people had only been exiled from Judah for seventy years, but already they had lost so much understanding. Nehemiah 8 shows us how the LORD worked with His people. He wanted them to know Him. This is important because the LORD desires us to know His Scriptures as well. The more we read the Bible and are able to
understand it, the more we will understand who God is and what that means. God will show us and teach us so much through His Word.

In Esther’s ten chapters we will follow Hadassah, a young, orphaned Hebrew woman who lived ...
