Holiness; Leviticus 20-22
Season 2, Episode 6

In the book of Leviticus, the law of God was presented so that the Israelites could understand
it. God expected the priests and the people to consider offerings to Him as holy. God was
different from the world, He was not just another god in a vast pantheon, He was THE God
who created all things. And the Creator of all things was choosing a people for Himself that
through them, He might accomplish salvation for the world. Even today, as Christians, we
are called to be holy (EPHESIANS 1:4). Coming out of Egypt, entrenched in multiple religious
practices, Israel was called to shift their thinking and change their understanding. No longer
were they to view religions practiced by mankind ideal or holy, only the things that God
instructed them were to be seen as holy. They could no longer hide, Israel was becoming God’s
nation for better and for worse. The plan of God was moving forward.
