Remember Mercy; Habakkuk 1-3
Season 9, Episode 2

01-Sep-2025
Now that we’ve reached the Old Testament book of Habakkuk, we are eight books into what are called the twelve minor prophets. And, Habakkuk certainly is minor in length, consisting of only 56 verses. Nevertheless, Habakkuk packs a punch. He is not afraid to ask God the hard questions. In chapter 1:2 Habakkuk says, “O LORD, how long shall I cry, and You will not hear? Even cry out to You, ‘Violence!’ and You will not save.” God replies with what the Apostle Paul will repeat in the New Testament, “Behold the proud, his soul is not upright in him; But the just shall live by his faith” (HABAKKUK 2:4). We have to remember that God is not in the business of
making us happy, He is in the business of making us righteous. Happiness certainly follows the work of God, but there can be a lot of difficulty in our lives that is for our own good. God is good, and He is working our lives out to be good as well.
