Jesus Christ gave a specific challenge to all who would follow Him after His ascension into heaven. This challenge, this responsibility remains in place until His return, until the “catching up” of souls who are committed to Him. So far, this has been about 2000 years, but it won’t stay like this forever! We must always be ready for Christ’s return. However you believe the end
of days will shake out, we know it will perfectly explain all the prophecies of the Bible. We also know who wins! Only God knows all the details, but we do know that the time is getting closer and closer. This means that the challenge Jesus left us with is greater today than it has ever been! Today as we read Acts 1, let’s consider how well we are taking up the call of Christ. We will also learn that we need the help of the Holy Spirit to accomplish it!
