Revelation tells us clearly that someone will come claiming to be God. The Bible calls him the antichrist. This man will claim the authority of God, and mimic some of the works of Christ, but he is neither. I believe that it is the Holy Spirit who is currently holding him back from enacting his plan, but that one day the Holy Spirit will remove Himself from the earth and the world will be at the antichrist’s mercy. The antichrist will emerge after a type of miracle that heals him of a deadly wound, and then another man called his false prophet will appear. Combined with the devil, these three are a type of counterfeit trinity, an ungodly trio. The antichrist, claiming
to be a kind of messiah of humanity will lead people peacefully for three and a half years. Then, he will establish what Revelation refers to as the abomination of desolation which will begin the time called Jacob’s trouble. People of God will run for the hills because they will recognize his evil for what it is.
