"There are Christians who work every day in environments that are hostile toward God. I like to call those Christians: God's Secret Servants! There is a great example of this in 1 Kings 18. Obadiah was in charge of King Ahab’s household. Ahab was famously dismissive of God, and he was an enemy of the prophet Elijah. All the while, his top official, Obadiah, was quietly serving God. Obadiah had secretly hidden one hundred of God’s prophets from Queen Jezebel when she began to exterminate them from Northern Israel. Now we see Obadiah come to the front of God's call in the Scriptures. During a famine in the land of Israel, Ahab commanded Obadiah to search out some grass for their livestock. While on his mission, Obadiah found much more than he was looking for when he met the prophet Elijah. Elijah gives him a new and potentially deadly mission from God to take a message back to the king. This could very well get Obadiah executed, and he begins a desperate attempt to appeal for Elijah’s mercy.
