"The book of Romans is a letter written by the Apostle Paul to Jewish and Gentile congregants in the Church at Rome, the capital of the world's largest empire. He explains the historical significance of Christ’s crucifixion and resurrection, and what that entails for those who once followed the Law of Moses, and for Gentiles who had never before followed the Law. The crucial distinction between the grace and works of God is also highlighted. But Romans is more than a theological study, it is an example of how we should live our lives as believers and followers of the LORD Jesus. Paul speaks about how Jews and Gentiles should now be
living together as followers of Christ. Romans 1 begins by declaring the good news of God for Rome: Jesus Christ. Paul also explains that the good news is the fulfillment of the Old Covenant prophecies, and that the Old Testament cannot be correctly understood apart from what Jesus Christ and the apostles have revealed, in what we now call the New Testament.
