Season 12, Episode 3

I have often heard people comment that my Christian religion is a bloody one. They are, of course, referring to the blood of Jesus Christ, remembered today through the Lord’s supper, also called communion or the eucharist. They may even be referring to the animal blood sacrifices of the Old Testament, and it’s true, there has been a lot of blood spilled for sin. In fact, it was Jesus who stopped all of that blood spilling with His own blood. He was the final sacrifice. Now, the cost of sin has been paid for. So, while it is true that the cost of sin was bloody, the perfect sacrifice stopped the blood from flowing. Hebrews 9 talks about this. As we read, we will explore what the role of the priests and high priests were, we will learn that Jesus was the holy offering made once, for all of our sins. The best thing that we can do is come to Jesus and confess our sins, receiving His forgiveness.
