Jesus Christ was by the Sea of Galilee where many people were pressing around Him to hear Him speak. Noticing two empty boats by the shore, Jesus climbed into one of them and asked the owner, Simon Peter, to push it out a little from the land so that He could teach from the boat. When Jesus was finished speaking to the crowd, He told Peter to launch out into the deep and
cast his nets for a catch of fish. Peter had a choice to ignore Jesus or follow His instructions. In this wonderful, detailed narrative, Peter tells Jesus that they had fished all night and caught nothing. Nevertheless, Peter listens to Jesus, and obeys. Good move, Peter! The great prophet Habakkuk said that the just shall live by faith. Faithful people respond to what God has spoken,
regardless of the circumstance. This example shows the faith that Peter had way deep in his soul.
