The Laws of God were not in their heart, they were lost in their sin and were falling away from the LORD God.
The Levites were charged with keeping the Law of God in the presence of the people, but when they failed the people failed, too. This is what I call shaky faith. In the book of Judges, we read what happens when this kind of belief continues to grow. It simply morphs into deeper darkness as they continue to fall. Psalm 107:20 says that God sent His Word and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions‚. Without Christ,
faith is futile.
