"The prophet Ezekiel was living in the shadow of ancient Babylon, the most powerful empire in the world at that time. It would be the work of God to use ancient Babylon to take the nations down. When Egypt, being one of the more powerful nations fell to Nebuchadnezzar, the world knew that something was up. God was speaking. Before the events would unfold, the word of the LORD came to Ezekiel who would deliver God's message to Pharaoh and the people of Egypt that they would be cut down like a
great tree. Scripture tells us that hell would be the final destination for the great empire of Egypt. This word is given before it happens, so God consistently gives warning to everyone in Egypt from a prophet living in Babylon.
