There are many in the Church today who challenge the idea of fulltime ministers taking offerings to live from their work. Many in the Church at Corinth also protested the same thing, yet Paul not only defends this practice but challenges the people who think that way. God has made His gospel work alive and powerful. We should be willing and able to support the work of the LORD as we love the LORD. We never have a right of refusal if we love the LORD for giving us eternal life, to not give tithe and offering to His work. God’s Word claims that there is a position for fulltime study, ministry, and prayer dedicated to teaching His Word, will, and way. When we read passages like 1 Corinthians 9, we begin to understand how we can help. The LORD has called everyone, everywhere, to contribute to His work around the world.

The Spirit Is Working; 2 Corinthians 1-3
Paul wrote a second letter to the Church at Corinth not long after his first one. Since Paul had spent nearly 18 months in Corinth building the Church, he spoke openly about sin and conflicts within the Church. 2 Corinthians 3 is a great teaching about the Holy Spirit working in us, and between u...
