Dreams are images, emotions, and events that take place deep in our mind. When we sleep, we’re not preoccupied with the events happening around us, our minds are at rest. It’s interesting to think that only Adam and Eve experienced what sleep was like before sin entered the world.
There are times when God uses the abstract nature and symbolism of dreams to direct us on the right path in the real world. That is a divine dream. Problems can come when we share those dreams without discretion. Joseph had God-given dreams that revealed a great future, but arrogantly shared it with his brothers and father – it was not well received. God was preparing Joseph for his future calling, but Joseph would need humility before any of these dreams would come to pass.
