Moses delivers his final blessing on Israel, before his death on Mount Nebo. Through Moses, it is God who tells His people Israel that they are blessed not because they deserve the blessing, but because He loves them. This is an important point for us to remember when we offer our praise to the LORD. God blesses His people not because we deserve it but because He loves us. Jesus Christ became a Man and did all His work to fulfill God’s law, because of His amazing love. Many try to build themselves up to think that God’s Kingdom is blessed to have them in it, but they are deeply mistaken. We are blessed because God loved us and made a way for us to enter His Kingdom! When we gain that kind of understanding, we begin to realize the fulfillment of just how devastating sin is—it destroys our relationship with God. But—Praise God!—Jesus Christ has come and restored our relationship with God, to all who believe.

Finish What You Started; Joshua 12-13
