Revelation 15 begins another wave of judgments by God on the earth, known as the bowls of wrath. This was called a “great sign” in heaven, and when they are completed it says that the wrath of God is complete. As we contemplate all of these signs, don’t lose sight of the fact that Revelation is ultimately about Jesus. It’s true that different people have different interpretations, opinions on what these signs will look like and when exactly they will happen. Differences aside, God is going to finish up His plan for us, and it will be good! Jesus: the Babe in the manger, the interesting adolescent, the controversial Teacher, the crucified Messiah, the resurrected
Saviour; in Revelation He is the Lamb, the Lion of Judah and the warrior King. In our reading today, we see these interesting bowls of wrath, a sea of glass, and those who have ultimately conquered the beast and his mark and image. Everything centers around this time in history in which Jesus Christ finalizes His conquering of Satan.
