In this life, in this place, at this time, what does it mean to walk properly as a follower of Christ? Many would say, “Just do what Jesus would do.” The problem is that very few have read the Bible to know what Jesus did. We need to understand what Paul the apostle wrote to the Thessalonian Christians in the book of 1 Thessalonians. He told them that they needed to walk properly as Christ followers so that anyone and everyone could see that they were different. Today, we need to accept this same message. We all know that anyone can talk the Christian
talk, but walking the walk is much more difficult. Even when you are walking the walk, wrong reactions can pop up in your life. This is why we need to continually give our whole selves to God. He is the ultimate Gardener who will help us prune off what needs to go, and train what needs to grow. In 1 Thessalonians 4, Paul writes to the church reminding them that their lives need to please God, not themselves, or others. This is the challenge.
