"When the enemy of our soul troubles us severely, on whom do we call? Whom can we ask to help us when it feels like all the earth is coming against our work? Psalm 55 is a composition written by David at a time when the enemy was making advances toward him. The compilation of the book of Psalms is great for us to memorize and to meditate on, frequently. I have often assigned the healing words from Psalms to be read much like a prescription for the soul, to those who are suffering through trials and turmoil. But when the enemy attacks you, whom do you talk to and what do you say? David gives us the answer: ""As for me, I will call upon God, and the LORD shall save me"" ( P S A L M 5 5 : 1 6 ) . It is made clear and we are assured that God will work with us, and He understands what we are going through. God does not dictate the evil that is directed our way, but He has the power and the ability to make us stronger and able to overcome it through the LORD Jesus Christ.
