Following his death, his youngest son Jehoahaz, also known as Ahaziah, became king in his place. Ahaziah’s mother was Athaliah, the daughter of evil King Ahab and Queen Jezebel.
After her son Ahaziah died, Athaliah secured her position as ruler and took control over Jerusalem and Judah. She ruled for about six years. She was evil. In the seventh year of her reign, in a surprise twist to the evil monarch, a young man, her grandson Joash, who had been hidden away for six years, is brought out and commissioned as the rightful and
