"Throughout history, we fall into a pattern in which leaders become off-set, seeking their own personal gain and fame rather than appointed task: to lead. Some would suggest that we are in such a time right now. But worldly leaders are different than Biblical leaders. God spoke through the apostle Paul and told Timothy how to select Church leadership. Many people today associate their leadership with their success and failure,
but God never sets that in place. 1 Timothy 3 clearly makes known not only the moral requirements, but the attitudes of those who are selected by God to become leaders and pastors. There are very specific qualifications and spiritual requirements that only the Holy Spirit can achieve in us if we are selected to become Church leaders. There are two
specific types of leaders mentioned: pastors and deacons.
