"It is impossible for us to understand the depth of God’s intelligence. The scope and vastness of His holiness is immeasurable. But, by faith, we understand that the LORD God Almighty is perfect in everything He does and says. In Revelation 21, the LORD declares from His throne that He will make all things new, and instructs John to write down all He has said because, “these words are true and faithful” (V. 5 ). The written Word of God is faithful and true (2 TIMOTHY 3:16), and the living Word of God is also faithful and true (REVELATION 19:11). John sees a new heaven and a new earth because the first earth had passed away. He witnesses the Holy City, the New Jerusalem, coming down out of heaven. Some feel that this fascinating passage in Revelation should be interpreted Metaphorically so that we can better understand it. But there is nothing in the passage to suggest that we should interpret it anyway except literally – Christ will return regardless of how it looks. May God’s Holy Spirit help and guide us as we read His words that are faithful and true!
