John's ministry began much earlier than when he was preaching and baptizing; it began in the womb as he leaped when Elizabeth heard the greeting of Mary as told in Luke 1:41-44.

The account of John, Elizabeth, Mary and Jesus is yet another scripture that highlights the humanity of the unborn. The bible speaks with one voice, the unborn are persons made in God's image and life begins at the moment of fertilization.
