At the age of eighty, Moses was called by God to go back to Egypt. It was time for God’s people to be released, time for Moses to face his past, time for Israel to head to the land of Canaan. I wonder if Moses knew just how much confrontation was in his future. In Exodus 4, the confrontations began with Moses needing to confront the people of Israel. In Exodus 5, he confronted the Pharaoh of Egypt, and in Exodus 6, Moses learned that he would see the power, force, and integrity of the Almighty God. He would see God bring to fruition His promise of rescue and deliverance. What a challenge to everyone involved! They were all used to the power of men, the power and force of the government of Egypt, but what would they do when confronted by the power of God? Chapter 7 continues the story with God telling Moses, “See,
I have made you as God to Pharaoh, and Aaron your brother shall be your prophet” (EXODUS 7 : 1 ). The LORD was establishing Moses as the leader of ancient Israel.

The Law of God; Exodus 18-21
