The Tabernacle; Exodus 26-29

The construction of the ancient Tent Tabernacle is both fascinating and, in many ways, supernatural. At this time, Israel was in the middle of nowhere, walking aimlessly in the
wilderness. Their central place of worship was constantly on the move. Now, when building
the Tabernacle and its items, ancient people used very practical methods of measurements.
For example, scholars believe a cubit was a measurement of length and was approximately
18-inches or the length of your forearm from the elbow to the tip of your middle finger. But these
measurements varied depending on region and culture. Some translations of the Bible write the
length in inches and feet, for sake of readability, but many translations still use the ancient terms
for measurements and historical consistency. Either way, God gave the plans for the Tabernacle
and its items to Moses, and commanded him to have it constructed by wise artisans and skilled
craftsmen, filled with His Holy Spirit (EXODUS 31:1-4).
