In the Bible, the Word of God, the LORD speaks to us. Yet, from the words of someone not in God’s Kingdom, Cyrus, God tells the people that the Temple is going to be rebuilt. Cyrus tells them that they will not have to pay for the rebuild, it will be paid for by the Assyrian king. This is a miracle! So many times, God provides for special projects in His Kingdom from
unconventional sources. The LORD often opens hidden doorways thought impossible. What is even more reassuring is that our God in heaven is the same yesterday, today, and forever! The LORD works in our lives as He has in the past. That is why reading and knowing His Word is so important. So, when we read Ezra 6 today, and hear how the LORD has miraculously set the stage to rebuild the Temple, we should also find comfort in our lives knowing that He can do the same.
