Money & Wisdom; Proverbs 5-8

We tend to idolize people who have lots of money. It’s all too easy to think that people must have made their millions due to their intellect and wisdom. The Bible doesn’t buy into this though, it tells us that sometimes money and wisdom are at opposite ends of the spectrum. Wisdom does not equal lots of money. Lots of money does not equal wisdom. This becomes obvious when we think about it. Pornography, for example, is extremely foolish and yet it offers tons of money for those who sell it. Sometimes sin equals lots of money. The Bible says that Wisdom and Understanding cry out an invitation to all who will listen – that they are ready and willing to help anyone who will hear. Proverbs 8 will shed even more light on this concept of real and Godly wisdom.

Contentment; Proverbs 15-17
